The Sea King is an alternative rock project based in San Francisco, California, and is the creation of singer/songwriter, poet, and author James Christian Wagner. With a commitment from the outset to playing music from the heart in a high energy alternative rock style, The Sea King is an upcoming musical force gaining momentum in the Bay. His influences range from Pearl Jam to Wilco, Jack Johnson, Chris Cornell, Sublime, and Stevie Wonder, as well as contemporary artists such as the Red Clay Strays and Jesse Welles.

 

Wagner began the Sea King in 2023 after suffering a major traumatic brain injury while completing his studies at Harvard University, ultimately changing the course of his life and leading him down a new artistic path. He composes and arranges his work for a wide range of instrumentations, from stripped-down acoustic to a high-energy four-piece rock band.
